Zusammenfassung: | Halide salts of the unsymmetrically substituted o-DMTTF, formulated as (o-DMTTF) sub(2)X, X=Cl, Br, I, are organized into uniform chains in a tetragonal structure with space group I-42d, providing a rare example of non-dimerized 3/4 filled system. Solid solutions formulated as (o-DMTTF)(Br) sub(x)(Cl) sub(1-x) and (o-DMTTF) sub(2)(Br) sub(x)(I) sub(1-x) have been prepared and structurally characterized. A systematic preferential bromide insertion is observed together with a lateral expansion of the structure with increasing anion size.
