A model of acoustic backscatter from Arctic sea ice

A model of acoustic backscatter from Arctic sea ridge keels is developed. The model is demonstrated to produce good agreement with data. It is a composite surface scattering theory based on diffractive scattering from small-scale roughness on the flanks of randomly oriented triangular ridge keels.
