Zusammenfassung: | Non mobile (mob super(-)) and non chemotactic (chem super(-)) mutants of Rhizobium meliloti) Ve 26 have been isolated so that the importance of these characters in lucerne nodulation in liquid medium and in solid medium might be known. In liquid medium the mutants developed a number of nodules equal to those obtained from parental strains. In solid medium (perlite, soil) the study showed that the mobility and chemotactic characters improved the nodulation and greatly increased the competitive capacity of the strains that possessed them. |
