Serologic survey for adenovirus infection in wild bears in Washington

One of 33 black bears (Ursus americanus) and 0 of 1 grizzly bear (U. arctos horribilis) in northeastern Washington had a positive antibody titer (1:640) to canine adenovirus type 1 (CAV-1). Potential for transmission among wild bears is indicated.
