Zusammenfassung: | It was reported that when adult hens were protected against acute cholinergic effects, a high dose of soman caused 55% inhibition of neuropathy target esterase (NTE) in the brain soon after dosing, and it was proposed that a dose of about 120 x LD50, if it could be tolerated with the aid of improved prophylaxis and therapy, would cause delayed neuropathy. Subsequently, Willems et al. found that one out of six birds treated with 1.5 mg/kg soman survived and developed an apparently typical severe delayed neuropathy, but with first signs seen only 13 days after dosing. |
