Thyroid hormone action: determination of hormone-receptor interaction using structural analogs and molecular modeling

The overall effects of the thyroid hormones are well known. Major progress has been made in identifying the fundamental reactions that initiate these hormonal activities. The author describes how analogs of the thyroid hormones have served to define the structural requirements for thyromimetic effect and have greatly helped to evaluate the validity of proposed mechanisms of hormone action.
