Zusammenfassung: | A microcomputer-based system for determining insect supercooling points is described. The system is composed of thermoelectric modules that detect exotherms and a computer program that interprets and compiles the data. This technique allows testing of more specimens per trial than was previously possible using individual thermocouples. This system should accommodate most supercooling insects, in all developmental stages. Computerization of data acquisition allows rapid and accurate determination of supercooling points with simultaneous data processing. |
