Zusammenfassung: | The ramifications of forest regeneration in terms of the effects on the total gene pool of constituent trees is reviewed. Due consideration should be made with regard to genetic diversity and inbreeding levels when attempting to measure or direst regenerative activities within the forest biome. A variety of techniques, including the translocation of exotic species and natural regeneration of native species, is discussed. Baseline data are important when considering the regeneration process, and the use of biomarkers in selections and classifications is considered as well. |
