About the taxonomic status of Scorpanena gaillardae Roux, 1954 (Osteichthyes, Scorpaenidae)

Some considerations concerning the external morphology of S. gaillardae Roux, 1954, deal with the possibility to be a valid species instead of a synonym of S. stephanica Cadenat, 1943.
