Evidence for rapid, nonbiological degradation of tributyltin compounds in autoclaved and heat-treated fine-grained sediments

Tributylin compounds are used in biocides in marine antifouling paints and have been been found in waters and sediments in areas exposed to marine traffic. The rate at which sediments will degrade tributyltin is examined.
