Zusammenfassung:Recognition, evaluation, and control, that is, risk assessment and risk management, of reproductive hazards in the workplace are complex problems, both scientifically and societally, that challenge the toxicologist, the regulator, the legislator, the occupational health professional, the employer, the employee, and the yet-to-be-born. Propagation of the species is essential for survival and therefore, in Homo sapiens emotional responses can be expected. Application of sound toxicological principles for identification, evaluation and assessment of risks, coupled with good industrial hygiene control measures can prevent hazards and maintain safe working conditions without unnecessarily restricting the opportunity for meaningful employment of any persons.
