Zusammenfassung:STAA has been found by the author and many other workers as a quantitatively selective medium for the recovery of Brochothrix from meat and meat products. However work is still needed on assessing the effects of sub-lethal damage on cells and the effectiveness of the medium on their recovery. The reader is referred to a recent article (Gardner, 1981), in which the taxonomy, identification, ecological associations, factors affecting growth and metabolic characteristics relative to meats of B. thermosphacta have been comprehensively reviewed.
