Nitric oxide synthase in damaged sensory neuron

NADPH diaphorase colocalized with nitric oxide synthase was studied in damaged protoneurons of the nodose ganglion of rabbit vagus nerve. The number and activity of nitric oxide synthase-expressing neurons increased. Nitric oxide is involved in neuron remodeling.[PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
