Zusammenfassung: | Inadequate measurements of carbon balances for aromatic hydrocarbon photoxidation systems, calculated as the sum of detected products, generally have been the case. Calculations of total gas-phase C during the reaction has yielded direct evidence for hetergeneous removal of intermediate products. Experiments with toluene reveal that 63% of C leaves the gas phase during the reaction. Normalized Co data in the test chambers, the saprc chamber, and the UNC chamber are compared to show their similarity. |
