Zusammenfassung: | The Ames Salmonella histidine-reversion system was used to determine the mutagenic activity of an SRC-II coal liquefaction residue, and of an alum sludge, a clarifier sludge, and an aerobically-digested clarifier sludge from the wastewater treatment pilot plant at the Pittsburgh and Midway Coal Mining Company, Fort Lewis, W.A. It was found that all the residuals showed some mutagenicity and further experiments were carried out to determine which were the most mutagenically active fractions of the whole materials. |
