Zusammenfassung:To keep pace with its long-term population goal of achieving replacement-level fertility by 1991, the government of Korea seeks to maintain the present rate of natural increase of 1.6%/yr through 1981 and to reach a rate of 1.3%/yr by 1991. Changes in population policy and resultant changes in population program strategy are discussed. Total expenditures on family planning in Korea have increased in accordance with the expansion of the national population program. Fertility rates, provision of contraceptive services, contraceptive practice, induced abortion rates, and community-based distribution projects in urban and rural areas are considered. The integration of family planning with primary health care is still in the experimental stage.
