Zusammenfassung:A study was made to determine the effects of the herbicide, simazine, on the blue-green alga, Anacystis nidulans, and to determine which organelles were affected by the herbicide. Simazine at 10 - 5m concentration was found to disrupt photosynthetic functions, and it is concluded that simazine causes death in algal cells by imbalancing the function of the thykaloids and making the polyhedral bodies incapable of performing their functions.
