Zusammenfassung: | After outlining the sources and characteristics of the waste waters from a poultry processing plant at Belfast bay, Me., the authors describe the development of a suitable waste-water treatment system involving coagulation with alum and an anionic polyelectrolyte, followed by dissolved-air flotation. The effluent is chlorinated and part of it is re-used in the processing plant, while the sludge is rendered to produce an animal feed supplement. Some typical operating results are presented, and costs are estimated. |
