Nitrate reductase-, catalase-, and urease-negative Mycobacterium tuberculosis

This report demonstrates that multiple biochemical tests are needed to identify some isolates of M. tuberculosis , especially those from patients with a history of antituberculosis therapy. Biochemically variant and drug-resistant organisms are most frequently encountered in this patient group.
