Toxicity of polychlorinated biphenyls (Aroclor 1254) to adult, juvenile, and larval stages of the shrimp Palaemonetes pugio

Larval and juvenile shrimp, palaemonetes pugio, are more sensitive to Aroclor 1254 than adults are. Differences in salinity does not appreciably alter toxicity. A teratogenic action by PCB's is suggested. Increased susceptibility of early stages of organisms may be a general phenomenon.
