Zusammenfassung:Comparative studies on the conversion of aldrin to dieldrin are conducted in Vitro using liver microsomes obtained from rats, pretreated and not pretreated with sodium phenobarbital. Mixed-function oxidases system of rat hepatic microsomes is dramatically enhanced by induction with phenobarbital. A maximum limit for the oxidation of aldrin to dieldrin in microsomes from uninduced rats is suggested. After induction, conversion is nearly quantitative.
