Zusammenfassung:A study was made to find the differentiation of hatchery-reared and artificially-released red sea bream (Pagrus major ) from wild fish, based upon their morphometric differences. A total of 80,000 hatchery-reared fry, ranging 40-60 mm FL, were fin-clipped and released at 3 locations in the coastal waters of Hirado island, Nagasaki Prefecture (Japan) in 1980 and 1981. Recapture results are discussed.
