Zusammenfassung:Those segments of coldwater, tallahatchie, and yocona rivers that empty into the arkabutla, sardis, and Enid reservoirs in northwestern Mississippi are investigated for total coliforms, fecal coliforms, and fecal Streptococci contamination. The populations for the three organisms were 333 organisms for each 100 ml. Any of the various birds and other game animals inhabiting the holly springs Nat'l Forest reserve, which hedges on the streams, might be responsible for the fecal pollution.
