Simple methods for estimation of metabolizable energy and net energy for production in diets for fingerling carp [Cyprinus carpio]

Zusammenfassung: | Suitability of digestible energy (DE), metabolizable energy (ME) and net energy for production (NEp) as a dietary energy value was tested against the data from a 6-week feeding trial where six casein-gelatin diets having different amino acid balance (79-90 in EAA index) were used. From the correlation coefficients between these energy values and the growth, feed efficiency and rates of nitrogen and energy depositions of the fish, NEp was considered to be the best value for prediction of fish performance. ME was inferior to NEp, but much better than DE. |
