Zusammenfassung:	Eggshell thickness and the levels of insecticides, PCB's, and heavy metals in eggs of pelicans transplanted in Louisiana are determined. The elimination of the pelican as a breeding bird in Louisiana came about with little publicity, and the process was complete by the early 1960's. Pollutant levels in the small breeding population now transplanted from Florida must be studied to determine their effects.
