Zusammenfassung:The effects of different levels of nutrient input on the density of phytoplankton and zooplankton were investigated in a two-year controlled fertilization study of eight experimental ponds. Results showed an increase in inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus in the treated ponds, and a variable increase in phyto- and zooplankton. A limited relationship between the average chlorophyll a concentration per summer and the average cladoceran dry weight per summer is discussed.
