Kinetics of nitrate uptake by freshwater algae

The kinetics of nitrate uptake, maximal uptake velocity, and half-saturation constant were determined for 18 species of freshwater algae grown without nitrate limitation. Uptake parameters for freshwater algae were identical with those reported in the literature for marine algae.
