Zusammenfassung: | Three factors including temperatuconcentration were combined into a crossed, completely randomized experimental design. For each combination of factors, triplicate observations were made of the interacting effects upon carbon-14 uptake on a unialgal bacterized culture of Oscillatoria rubescens, isolated from Hodgson lake, Ohio, U.S.A. Within the ranges of variables studied, temperature caused the greatest variation in labelled carbon dioxide uptake, followed by light intensity and nutrient concentration. The interaction of all three appears to be the most important factor influencing growth and distribution of the organism. |
