Effect of different levels of water salinity on the decomposition of organic manures in a brackish water fish pond soil

Laboratory studies were made of the effects of four different water salinity levels on the decomposition of two organic manures, cow dung and poultry manure, in the soil of a brackish water fish pond. The results, presented with tables and graphs, show that at higher water salinity levels the decomposition rates of the manures were decreased, and it is recommended that well decomposed manure would be more suitable for manuring brackish water fish ponds with high water salinities.
