Zusammenfassung:A number of correlations have been established between chemical structure and reactivity for the biodegradation of some organic compounds. It is shown that second-order rate constants for biodegradation of compounds such as methyl benzoate and methyl anisate, correlate with their second-order alkaline hydrolysis constants. Similar results were found for four phthalates and for phenolic compounds.
