Paedomorphosis in Metacheyletia (Acari: Cheyletidae), with the description of a new species

Metacheyletia longisetosa , n. sp. is described from quills of Amazona finschi , a Mexican parrot collected in Jalisco, Mexico. The paedomorphic features of Metacheyletia are described and discussed.
