Laboratory trials of fluridone on sago pondweed

An evaluation was carried out of the herbicidal potential of fluridone on sago pondweed (Potamogeton pectinatus ). Results in limited contact tests of 24 hours or more and in continuous contact did not show significant differences that could indicate that fluridone exerts its action within 24 hours after being applied. Findings show that sago pondweed is fairly susceptible to fluridone, however, it is noted that other workers have found fluridone to be generally ineffective.
