Zusammenfassung:To assess the aqueous persistence of bis(tri-n-butyltin)oxide some basic physical and chemical properties of tri-n-butyltin species were investigated. In the dark at 20C there was no volatilization of the tri-n-butyltin from water, nor any loss of butyl groups over the study period of 63 days occurred. Photolysis was slow with a half-life of over 89 days. The octanol-water partition coefficient at pH6 and 20C was 3.2. For bis(tri-n-butyltin)oxide, vapour pressure was estimated at 0.00000064 mm Hg.
