Computerized distribution records - CADD paves the way

Details are given of the installation at Des Moines, of a computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) system which provides facilities for the creation, modification, storage, and retrieval of both graphic and non-graphic data, and of its use in conjunction with a water audit and leak detection study being carried out in the city. The conclusions drawn so far from the water audit are summarized, and the preparation of the base CADD map for the water and sewerage systems is outlined. Other possible uses of CADD are indicated.
