Zusammenfassung:Irrigation has evolved as a major factor in commercial agriculture. Nevertheless, the pressures from the ongoing population growth, and many other aggravating factors, will again place increased demands on food production. Government policies and programs, the thrust of development aid, and the role of the nongovernmental sector will have to change to meet these future needs.
