Zusammenfassung: | A theoretical model is developed to simulate transient behaviro of multistage flash desalination. The model involves simultaneous solution of the mass and energy balance equations in all separation stages. Each stage is defined by nine variables; these are the heights of flashing brine and distillate, salt concentration in the flashing brine, brine and distillte flow rates, flashing pressure, and temperatures of the flashing brine, distillate, and feed brine. A case study is presented for a once-through multistage configuration. Results are shown in terms of transient variation in the stage variables as a function of operating conditions. |
