Zusammenfassung: | An expanded-bed anaerobic biological granular activated carbon (GAC) reactor was connected to a GAC adsorber to form a hybrid reactor which separated biological removal from physical removal. The reactor design was evaluated using the alkylphenol 3-ethylphenol to represent a refractory/inhibitory compound. The COD loading rate was 13.3-23.8 kg COD per m3. The hybrid reactor had a greater biological removal efficiency than a conventional expanded-bed GAC anaerobic reactor. The effects of sludge age and GAC replacement rate on reactor efficiency were examined. |
