Zusammenfassung:Electrolytic processing is used commercially to recover and/or refine metals such as aluminum, copper, magnesium, nickel, and zinc. There are also new and exciting opportunities to utilize electrometallurgy in the production of titanium, lead, and other metals. This paper will review some of the main technologies that are used to produce and refine metals as well as some of the recent advances and directions the electrometallurgy industry is moving to meet the challenges faced now as well as those that are likely to be faced in the future.
