Concentrations and distributions of some major and minor elements in the sediments of the River Göksu and Taşucu delta, Turkey

Data are presented on the concentrations of 16 major and minor elements in sediments from the Goksu river, Turkey, its delta, and the adjacent Mediterranean sea. The catchment area of this river was predominantly agricultural, but with some small centres of population. The distribution of trace metals depended chiefly on the geological structure of the river basin rather than on external influences.
