An experimental verification of segregation theory in a diploidized tetraploid: esterase loci in Avena barbata

In this note the authors report results, obtained from progeny tests of suitably heterozygous individuals, using electrophoretically revealed esterase (EST; EC 3.1.1.2) genotypes of Avena barbata , that provide an experimental verification of the theory of segregation in diploidized tetraploids.
