Zusammenfassung:An intensive monitoring programme was carried out during summer 1989 along a selected area of the Adriatic coast, located south of the Po river mouth. Water samples were examined for micro-organisms, chlorophyll-a content and salinity. Results showed microbial daily fluctuations related to rain, salinity and algal biomass. Bacteria and phage stratification and tide influence were also observed.
