Management of severe sepsis and septic shock in the Emergency Department: a follow-up survey

Emergency Departments (ED) have a pivotal role in managing patients with severe sepsis and septic shock. 1 In our survey in 2006, 20.5% EDs in England were able to commence the pathway to Early Goal-Directed Therapy (EGDT).
