Zusammenfassung: | A general 1-dimensional analytical model was developed to describe solute transport through heterogeneous media containing a fixed non-aqueous-phase-liquid (NAPL) residual. The model was suitable for the simulation of solute behaviour in NAPL-contaminated porous media, and for estimating the performance of NAPL-based sub-surface sorption systems. The governing equations described both instantaneous and time-dependent processes, such as exchange between mobile and immobile waters, exchange between residual NAPL and water, and exchange between aquifer solids and water. These were solved using a 1-dimensional analytical Laplace-space solution. There are 37 references. (see also following abstract). |
