Zusammenfassung:A fast method for the determination of amitrole in drinking and ground water is decribed. Amitrole is separated from other substances by HPLC. For the determination a highly sensitive coulometric electrode array detector is applied. Tap and well water with concentrations down to 0.1 mig amitrole/L can be determined without any enrichment steps. The detection limit of amitrole added to Viennese tap water is 0.05 mig/L
