Zusammenfassung: | This paper puts forward an adapted edition of the S-MAC protocol which is more energy efficient than the original version. The alteration does not transfigure the system for transmission and reception of the data frames. It only changes the procedure for determining the sleep schedules of a node at the time a node wakes up. In the original S-MAC, the nodes form virtual clusters around shared schedules. A sensor network using the original S-MAC is likely to have many virtual clusters and a momentous proportion of nodes belong to multiple virtual clusters. The nodes which belong to multiple clusters have to follow multiple sleep schedules. These nodes, therefore, have a higher duty cycle than the nodes which belong to only one virtual cluster. In the customized version of the protocol presented in this paper, a node which discovers the existence of two (or more) isolated virtual clusters, triggers an alteration of sleep schedules called Fuzzy logic snooze scheme. |
