Zusammenfassung:	Abstract Diabetes and metabolic syndrome are associated with impaired lung function. However, it is unknown whether this is also true in prediabetes. In a cross-sectional study of 1237 asymptomatic adults, we found that diabetes and prediabetes were both significantly associated with low vital capacity, even after adjustment for relevant confounding factors.
