Zusammenfassung:The authors present a summary of results on the dynamics of single types of aliphatic and aromatic amino acids in the purple membrane protein, bacteriorhodopsin, from the extreme halophile Halobacterium halobium R sub(1). This system has the desirable NMR characteristics of only one protein, bacteriorhodopsin, in the purple membrane, its sequence is known, and its three-dimensional structure is becoming available.
