Zusammenfassung:	This study was undertaken in part to obtain mineral composition data for Atriplex canescens (Pursh) Nutt, ssp. canescens (Calligonum c. Pursh.) and Atriplex polycarpa (Toor.) Wats, (Obione p. Torr.) plants. It is hoped that such information will help to explain its abundance at the Barstow site. Atriplex species are candidates for biomass production on marginal saline lands.
