Zusammenfassung: | How does the knowledge of anthropologists emerge out of the intersubjective relations woven during fieldwork? Fieldwork's heuristic possibilities are investigated by inquiring into its situation, the context that makes it possible for an ethnologist to be present, and the thus defined intersubjective 'space'. The machines for collecting material or recording information are described whereby ethnologists in the field uncover and coproduce 'data', 'discursivities' and 'visibilities' during interactions, observations and interlocution. Intersubjective relations and the commitments thus implied come under review -- the presence of anthropologists as well as their implication in the interviews that lead both to a 'policy of the situation' and an ethic of the relationship.
