Zusammenfassung: | [...]we launched Medical Humanities as twice-yearly special editions of the JME, from the outset enjoying a share in our parent journal's circulation potential and research impact ratings, as well as an instantly venerable publication history: few other journals will have started life as volume 26, number 1, as we did in June 2000! [...]we would like to acknowledge our pioneers-Ranaan Gillon for the original inspiration for the journal's founding, and Kenneth Boyd and Sir Kenneth Calman for their distinguished contributions to the establishment of the field of medical humanities as an enquiry awaiting a journal; founding coeditor David Greaves, himself a pioneering advocate and practitioner of university-based medical humanities; Alex Williamson and Andrea Horgan at BMJ Specialist Journals, copublishers of the journal, together with their team of colleagues; the members of our editorial and advisory boards; associate editors John Saunders and Neil Pickering; column editors Gillie Bolton, Richard Meakin and Deborah Kirklin; our current reviews editor, Paul Lazarus; our many reviewers over the years; our editorial assistants, Denise Reid and Karen Elliott; and of course-perhaps above all-our contributing authors and our loyal readers. |
